2. Many Apps or Games Installed
Suppose you have a device with 4 GB internal storage, and you've almost filled 3GB with apps and games, then you can get ready for your android device to run like a turtle! If you fill your phone with more apps, it will consume more memory(RAM) and more storage making your device slow.
Solutions:-
- Use an external storage like a SD-card. You can save all your songs, movies and pictures on the sd-card so that there will very less load on your device's internal storage.
- In some devices there is options to change the default write directory. Select external storage in this option. You can go to this option by going to Settings--Storage--Default Write Disk--External Storage. This will directly install new apps on your external device. (Note: In some devices Enabling this option may lead to some bugs like you may not be able to install apk files.)
- Only install the apps you use frequently and uninstall those which you use rarely.
3. Lot Junk getting accumulated on your device
Apps create a lot junk on your device. These junk files can take a lot of space in the internal storage of your device over time. You cannot find where these junk files are located. If you try to delete app junk yourself, you may end deleting important files.
Solutions:-To clean the junk produced by large apps you can use a secondary optimizer like Clean Master By Cheetah Mobile. These apps can automatically find the junk produced by apps and delete them without disturbing important files.

4. Lot of Background processes running.
Having more apps lead to having more background processes running. The no. of processes may be more than what the RAM of your device can handle. This will naturally slow down your device.
Solutions:- Reduce the no. apps. Use an optimizer like the one I mentioned above. Eliminate apps as soon as you leave them. Another way to do this is by limiting the no of background activities. You can do this by
- Go to Settings and then go to About Phone.
- You'll find an option known as Build No.
- Tap on this option 5-10 times until you get a message saying "You are a developer"
- Now, you'll find a new option in the settings menu known as Developer Options.
- Go to developer options and scroll to end where you'll find Apps
- Under that you'll Find three options Don't Keep Activities, Background Process limit and Show all ANRs(we'll not use this one)
- Select Don't keep Activities so that the apps close automatically as soon as the use leaves them. (Note: Enabling this means that your multitasking ability is disabled)
- Choose the limit of background processes in the next option.

5. Animations
As you know android supports various types of customisation. This includes animations. Animations can use a fair amount of CPU and sometimes memory. So if your phone acts slow then you can try disabling animations. This will make your phone snapy though! But this helps in increasing the performance of the phone.
Steps to Disable Animations:-
- Go to settings and then Developer Options.(If you don't see developer options then follow the steps above)
- Select Animation off in all hte three options i.e Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, Animator duration scale(See Image)
- Thats it animations are now disabled. You turn also select .5x if you want.
Update Your Device
Always check for new OTA(Over The Air)Updates from your device manufacturer. These updates are created to remove any bugs that are present in the current firmware. Maybe the bugs present in the firmware are making your device slow. So always check for updates.
To Check for Updates folow these steps:- Go to settings>>About Phone>>System Updates.
These are the 5 major reason why your andoid device is slowing down. If you have any doubts or queries please comment below.I would be happy to solve your problems ;) . If you know any other major reasons which I did'nt mention, please mention them in the comments.
