Backup your Android Apps as APK!
Have you ever wondered if you could obtain the apk files of the android apps that you downloaded from playstore?? While installing android apps from playstore, you know that they get installed without the apk file getting downloaded, but if you somehow uninstalled the your favourite app or someone did it :P(may it be angrybirds, candycrush saga or subway surfers) then you need to install it again from playstore. So, in such cases these backups can come handy! All you need is a file explorer i.e ES-Explorer. You can download it from the link below
I think you know .apk is the extension in which android apps are made. App developers first compile thier apps as .apk and then post it to Google Play.
A file explorer is an app that lets you browse the contents in your device's SD-card or internal storage. (i,e movies, files, music, images etc). Es Explorer is one such app, but it is a explorer of another wave! It has many features which are very useful. I'll discuss about it in my future posts.
So, here are the steps involved to back up your apps as APK
- Go to any of the above link and download ES Explorer.
- Once downloaded open the app and swipe from left to open the Fast Acces Pane.
- You'll get many options like Favourite, Local, Library etc. Open the Library
- In the Library section you'll fiind "APP". Select this and you'll be redirected to a page containing icons of all your apps.
- Long press the icon of the app you want to backup and click up.
- After the backup go to the root folder of your phone. It can be either on your SD-card or Internal Storage.
- You'll find a folder called as "backups". Open it and you'll find another folder "app"
- Open it and EUREAKA!! There is your .apk file.
You can also follow this video to do the same.
